Your patients would be screened routinely for the initial symptoms of hearing loss and those who demonstrate preliminary indications of a problem are scheduled for a comprehensive audiometric evaluation with your practices licensed dispenser. Since approximately 90% of cases of hearing loss are not medically or surgically correctable or reversible, hearing instruments of some kind are the only effective treatment option. Those patients that are found to have indicators of potential pathology or of conditions which need consultation from an ENT specialist will be referred accordingly.
